We dreamed up the Kökény Étterem in the united spirit of innovation and preservation of tradition. We wanted to create a countryside restaurant that represents a simple, modern line in it’s furnishings, while also capturing a cozy feeling. A fine place just to drop by, where you are warmly welcomed, and where you can enjoy eating and having a drink with friends or family.
We kept the same important detail in mind when we came up with the idea of the kind of flavor we wanted to bring to life in the kitchen and the values we would like to represent. That is the reason why we retought the traditional, well-known dishes, dressed them in modern clothes, but all the while it eas also important for us to raise the high standard of our food even further by using the quality products of producers working in and around Eger.
We represent the producers of our region with our menu. Our ham, salami, cheese, jams, syrups, our wine all display our region’s finest culinary qualities. And of course, it was not by accident, that our restaurant was named after the regions most prominent fruit, but not known to many, the sole, which is echoesd in our dishes and drinks.
