Glam Picnic 2025 kicks off at the Crowne Plaza Budapest rooftop garden with a legendary brunch and baristas from Bányai Specialty Coffee Concept

On 28 June, one of Budapest’s most unique summer experiences, Glam Picnic, returns for the fourth time. Hosted by the Crowne Plaza Budapest, recipient of the Hotel of the Year award, the event transforms the rooftop garden into a designer picnic space each weekend throughout the summer, complete with a specialty coffee pop-up, internationally recognised breakfast, and stylishly decorated picnic islands.

One of this year’s most exciting new features is the Bányai coffee corner. Here, guests can enjoy espresso-based coffee specialties prepared by baristas from Bányai, using coffee beans sourced from the Hungarian-owned Bányai farm in Costa Rica, crafted with the brand’s signature quality and passion.

The opening weekend, on 28–29 June, will be hosted by Kristóf Steiner and Nimrod Dagan. Kristóf – a regular guest at the hotel with his partner and currently living in a small Greek village – will share his thoughts on the importance of plant-based nutrition and mindful living on Saturday. On Sunday, Nimrod will speak about why plant-based ingredients are worth prioritising in one’s diet.

As in previous years, the event’s magical visual atmosphere is brought to life by the team at Effclusive Picnics, who once again carefully curate the design of the rooftop garden in the heart of the city. The location offers a stunning view over the recently renovated Nyugati Railway Station and the domes of nearby historic buildings. Among the thematic picnic stations, the popular Oceanic Station returns, bringing seaside freshness and tones of blue and white to the urban rooftop.

The elegantly styled picnic is set within a tranquil garden surrounded by quince trees and shrubs, where pastel tones, floral arrangements, soft fabrics, comfortable seating and candlelight set the tone for a relaxed and refined experience.

As part of the brunch, guests can enjoy the hotel’s generous buffet breakfast, featuring vegan options, fresh fruits, salads, and pastries. The à la carte selection includes eggs Benedict with Hollandaise and grilled tomatoes, Hungarian-style scrambled eggs with paprika, avocado toast with poached eggs, oatmeal with berries, and Greek yogurt with homemade granola. The experience is made even more celebratory with sparkling wine and mimosas.
